Chinese Salt & Chilli Chicken Fakeaway
This one is here to settle all of your deepest cravings...
In my 20 years of life I have yet to meet a single person who doesn't love a Chinese takeaway, so I already know you are guaranteed to fall in love with this low calorie, high flavour dish.
This comes to you courtesy of @atkincoaching on Instagram who, lucky for us, specialises in fat loss coaching, so we can trust that this recipe can be fully enjoyed without that voice in the back of your head making you feel guilty!
Ordering a standard portion of Salt & Chilli chicken from your favourite local Chinese restaurant will set you back a staggering 816 calories - and no, this doesn't include your sides. This recipe, with rice included is only 516 calories. With the same mouth watering taste, this one really is a no brainer. This takes just 15-20 mins to whip up in your kitchen.
INGREDIENTS
- 150g chicken breast
- Chopped onion
- Mixed peppers of your choice
- Mixed chillies
- 1x egg
- Plain flour
- Light soy sauce
- Chilli & garlic salt
- Frylight
- 125g rice
- 1x large potato (if you want to add salt & chilli chips for an extra treat like me
- 100g Mayflower curry sauce (optional)
METHOD
- Dice chicken and put to side.
- Chop onion, mixed peppers and mixed chillies.
- Whisk egg.
- Put flour in bowl and add some chilli flakes/salt.
- Dip chicken breast into egg, and then coat fully in flour.
- Fry chicken in Frylight until cooked. Once cooked add onion, mixed peppers and chillies.
- Add approx. 3tbsp light soy sauce.
- Serve with 125g rice. Drizzle curry sauce over the top and ENJOY!
